Data Deletion Request

Request deletion of your account and personal data

At Flex Storage Park, we respect your privacy rights and are committed to giving you control over your personal data. If you wish to delete your account and personal information, please follow the instructions below.

What Data Will Be Deleted

When you request account deletion, the following data will be removed:

  • Account profile information (name, email, phone number)
  • OAuth login connections (Google, Facebook)
  • Payment method information
  • Saved preferences and settings
  • Account activity logs

What Data We Must Retain

For legal and business compliance purposes, we are required to retain certain information for a specific period (typically 7 years):

  • Transaction history and payment records (tax and accounting requirements)
  • Rental agreement records (legal obligations)
  • Communication records related to disputes or legal matters
  • Information required by law enforcement or court orders

This retained information will be anonymized where possible and kept only for the legally required retention period.

Before Requesting Deletion

⚠️ Important Requirements

Before your account can be deleted, you must:

  • Close all active storage unit rentals
  • Remove all property from your storage units
  • Pay any outstanding balances or fees
  • Return all access devices (keys, fobs, etc.)

Accounts with active rentals or outstanding balances cannot be deleted.

How to Request Deletion

Option 1: Delete Through Your Account (Recommended)

  1. Log in to your account
  2. Go to Account Settings
  3. Click "Delete Account" at the bottom of the page
  4. Confirm your decision
  5. Your account will be deleted within 48 hours

Option 2: Email Request

If you cannot access your account, send an email to:

Subject: Account Deletion Request

Include:

  • Full name associated with the account
  • Email address used for registration
  • Phone number (if provided during registration)
  • Reason for deletion (optional)

Call our customer support:

Option 4: In-Person Request

Visit our facility with valid government-issued ID:

Office Hours: Monday - Saturday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

For OAuth Users (Google/Facebook Login)

If you signed up using Google or Facebook:

  • Deleting your Flex Storage Park account will remove all data we store
  • This does NOT delete your Google or Facebook account
  • To revoke app permissions:

Deletion Timeline

  • Immediate: Your account will be deactivated and you will no longer be able to log in
  • Within 48 hours: Your personal data will be deleted from our active systems
  • Within 30 days: Data will be removed from backup systems
  • 7 years: Legally required financial records will be retained in compliance with tax laws

Identity Verification

For your security, we may require identity verification before processing deletion requests submitted via email or phone. This may include:

  • Answering account security questions
  • Providing government-issued ID
  • Confirming recent account activity

Important Consequences

⚠️ Account Deletion is Permanent

Once deleted:

  • You cannot recover your account or data
  • All saved payment methods will be removed
  • You will lose access to your rental history
  • Any promotional rates or discounts will be forfeited
  • You will need to create a new account to use our services again

Alternative to Full Deletion

If you're concerned about privacy but may want to use our services in the future, consider:

  • Deactivate Account: Temporarily disable your account without deleting data
  • Update Privacy Settings: Limit data collection and communications
  • Remove Payment Methods: Delete saved payment information while keeping your account
